travel diary rottnest island

LOCATION: WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Talking about Rotto Island, there's only one word that comes to my mind: paradise. A 40 min drive with the ferry from Perth and located in the middle of the Indian Ocean with its crystal clear water and more than 20 beaches and lagoons Rotto is the place to relax and calm down. The whole island is under nature conservation and you can only drive around by bike or bus. As I love cycling I chose the bike and made my way through the hills. Apart from beeing the most beautiful island I've ever seen, it's inhabitants, the Quokkas, are the most patient and cutest animals ever! I mean just look at the pictures, they are so adorable (how cute is that baby Quokka)!

shangri-la dubai

LOCATION: DUBAI

Flying back from Australia I had the chance to stay at beautiful Shangri-La Dubai. I flew from Brisbane to Dubai, which takes 14 hours and I was really happy that we had an early check in and our Horizon Deluxe room was absolutely stunning! We had an unpralled view over Burj Khalifa and the skycrapers surrounding it and were welcomed by fresh roses, arabic sweets and nice letters. On the first day we of course explored the hotel with it’s two restaurants, the spa, the fitness rooms, the cafes, the Horizon Lounge and the Shangri-La doesn’t have only one but two pools overlooking the skyline, too! One is on the roof top and one at a lower level. We enjoyed both and felt so relaxed. On our last day we had the chance to dine at Hoi An, a first class vietnamese restaurant and this was the best asian food I’ve ever had. Seriously, this is on my must-do list when in Dubai!

viva la moda x monki

LOCATION: MUNICH

When I travelled to Stockholm five years ago one of my top shopping spots was Monki. Five years ago you could only buy them in Sweden so now I'm even happier that the clothes are available in Germany, too. I met the Monki team in Berlin during fashion week and they were so sweet and kind. Shooting this dress in Munich surrounded by flowers was magical. The sun was shining and suddenly a breeze blew the flowers away and made it picture perfect! I paried it with my Benedetta Bruzziches clutch (have you seen Aimee Song wearing it at the Oscars?) and Mango heels.

rydges at the great barrier reef

LOCATION: RYDGES ESPLANADE CAIRNS

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen is definitely the Great Barrier Reef! I had the chance to explore it from Rydges Esplanade in Cairns. You can make a lot of daytrips and tours to snorkel and diving areas around the Reef from there, as well as helicopter flights or trips to the Rainforest. I had an overnight flight from Perth to Cairns and the hotel was so helpful: they checked me in at 5am, I was so happy about this because I was dead tired and when I got to the room in the highest floor there was not only one king size bed but two king size beds in my room with a stunning view over the ocean! I was so happy and couldn’t decide in which to sleep. The next day I enjoyed the pool area surrounded by palm trees and their mocktails were so tasty! Thanks so much Rydges Esplanade for making me a home far away from home and booking me into this amazing room.

viva la moda x levis

LOCATION: OPERA HOUSE SYDNEY

When it comes to jeans, classics are always the best. Every girl needs a pair of classic tight dark jeans, a pair of destroyed hot pants as well as a cool pair of boyfriend jeans. When it comes to boyfriend and hot pants, my first choice is Levis. Producing the 501 model since over 100 years, it is timeless and now exclusively launched again. The pictures were shot by my boyfriend in front of the Opera House in Sydney at sunset. I paired them with Aminah Abdul Jillil bow pumps and a classic white sweater.

wild life sydney zoo and sea life sydney

LOCATION: SYDNEY

When I was is Sydney I had the chance to visit the Zoo and Sea Life for a private tour. They are both located at Darling Harbour, perfect if you don't have much time because it's in the center of Sydney and close to all other sightseeing attractions. The Zoo only has Aussie animals which is great! You learn a lot about them and have the opportunity to take pictures with Koalas and hold a snake. We also spend some hours relaxing in the Aquarium. It's so peaceful wandering around the underwater tunnels while the sharks and local fishies float by. This experience once again showed me how unique Australia is! So different from all other countries, so different in nature, wildlife and ecosystems and more than worth a visit! Thanks to the Wild Life Sydney Zoo and Sea Life Sydney for having me!
